More About Me
Born in Rio de Janeiro and raised across different countries, Camila grew up learning to observe before she learned to explain. Movement, travel, and cultural contrast became part of her visual education, shaping a way of seeing that privileges mood, rhythm, and storytelling over formula.
She studied cinema at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, where she immersed herself in narrative filmmaking and on-set practice. Since then, she has worked across productions in roles ranging from Assistant Camera to Gaffer and Cinematographer, experiences that continue to inform her relationship with light and her understanding of collaboration on set.
Camila’s work moves between narrative films and commercial or branded projects, always approaching each format as an opportunity for storytelling. She is particularly interested in projects where image carries meaning, where atmosphere reveals character, and where visual language becomes an essential part of the narrative.
As true believer that life experiences are essential in shaping her work and vision, Camila lived and worked on Príncipe Island in Africa from 2024 to 2026, developing her practice in close connection with landscape, people, and natural light. Working far from conventional production structures strengthened an intuitive, observational approach that continues to shape her work today.
Camila is a member of the Associação Brasileira de Cinematografia, ABC and DAFB. She collaborates with directors, agencies, and production teams on projects of different scales, bringing a narrative eye and a cinematic presence to every set.
